Our engineering experience and expertise covers a broad range of disciplines; from transportation systems and erosion control projects, to residential and commercial developments and complete water and wastewater systems.
Structural Engineering
Our structural engineering team creates new structures, while preserving historically important buildings through seismic retrofitting.
The Lumos Structural Engineering Division has extensive experience in the evaluation, rehabilitation, and seismic strengthening of existing structures. Our team has provided structural design for new and existing power plants, including expansions. This work spans throughout the United States, Guatemala, the Philippines and Costa Rica.
Surveying / Mapping
Our Surveying Division plays a part in many of our Lumos engineering and construction projects. They serve contractors and other engineering firms throughout the west in Nevada, California and Idaho. Our projects encompass complex right-of-way and boundary surveys, individual parcel maps, large-scale topographic mapping in forested terrain, and construction staking for major building, road, and utility projects.
Geotechnical
The foundation of a good design rests on a solid understanding of the underlying soils. Lumos' geotechnical staff has the experience and the expertise to investigate and evaluate complex subsurface conditions.
We have performed geotechnical investigations for large municipal buildings, commercial and industrial developments, roads, utilities, tunnels, and pipelines. We are familiar with a wide range of geotechnical stabilization techniques, including piles, reinforced earth mats, retaining walls, geotextile fabrics, and geogrids. We strive to provide our clients with cost-effective solutions that confirm a strong foundation for their projects.
Construction Services
Our Construction Services Division works closely with our clients to become an extension of their team. Our clients, both private and public, benefit from our experienced and knowledgeable staff who are ACI, ICC, NICET, OSHA, and NAQTC certified.
We are as committed to quality assurance in the construction phase as we are to the accuracy of our plans.
