Truckee River Pedestrian Bridge

Truckee River Pedestrian Bridge

Project Description

Lumos has been providing engineering assistance to the Town of Truckee since 2002. Projects included work in sensitive environmental and cultural areas, work in Truckeeā€™s historic districts, work in high altitude areas where snow removal was a significant consideration, and work in areas where public involvement and support were paramount.

Lumos has completed work on Phase 2, Phase 3A, Phase 3B, the Brockway segment, and Phase 4A of the Legacy Trail. The Brockway segment was constructed in 2021 and Phase 4A is currently under construction. The 60% design level of Phase 4B from the Nevada County line to West River Street in Placer County has been completed and is currently on hold as easement acquisition is completed. The Truckee River Pedestrian Bridge design was a part of Phase 4A of this project.

Lumos & Associates provided structural design of abutments and wingwalls for an alternative prefabricated bridge across the Truckee River. This included coordination with the Town, Contractor and bridge manufacturer on the final design, preparation of structural plans of the bridge abutments and wingwalls, submittal of plans to the Town and Contractor for review, and incorporation of review comments into final plan sheets.
