Lumos provided a geotechnical investigation, site utility location, materials testing, special inspection and survey services for the construction of a new 27,107 square foot fitness center at NAS Fallon. The fitness center replaced 3 older buildings that were currently utilized at the NAS Fallon’s fitness center and will contribute to the retention, readiness and mental, physical, and emotional well-being of the active duty, reserve and retired personnel by providing a varied program of recreational, social and community support actives. It is pending LEED Silver certification and the final cost was approximately $9 million. The facility includes indoor basketball, volleyball, and racquetball courts; fitness areas, multipurpose activity rooms, locker rooms, storage rooms, reception counter, administrative offices, and a laundry room. As part of Lumos’ services, the following were provided: construction staking for the building and site, site utility location, monitoring of settlement monuments installed within the structure, materials testing, special inspection and as built surveys of final drainage improvements.
