Terra-Gen Operating Company, LLC planned to drill three geothermal exploration borings on three separate leases in Nevada to test for geothermal resources. The sites included leased property northeast of the Stillwater Range in Pershing County, a property southeast of the Stillwater Range in Churchill County, and a property east of the Stillwater Range in Churchill County. Each site required a water source of approximately 20 gpm to supply water for the drilling operations. Lumos was contracted to identify locations for drilling a temporary water supply well for each of the sites.Lumos conducted a database study utilizing GIS databases including Nevada Department Water Resource’s website to collect information on existing wells and aquifers in the areas of interest. The information was analyzed and plotted into an ARC View GIS base map. Following the development of the GIS base map, a reconnaissance survey was conducted of each of the leased properties to obtain field experience of the geomorphology and geology for each area. The final deliverables included brief report of each area with GIS maps of primary, secondary, and tertiary drill targets for the temporary water supply wells.
