Lumos used GIS modeling to analyze the aesthetic impacts of a private residential subdivision in Upper Bidwell Park in Chico, CA. The analysis included 13 lots and visually and technically displayed the amount of area the lots would be visible from one of Chico’s most valuable recreational resources. The report concluded various portions of the development would impact the viewshed and aesthetic pleasure of users in Bidwell Park. A compromise was reached between the developer and the City of Chico. The analysis was reported to the Chico City Council and Planning Commission as well as made available to the public for review.
