For over a decade, resident surveys in the Town of Truckee have shown that the people who live and work there place a very high value on the Town’s trail system. It repeatedly ranks at or near the top of quality-of-life factors in these surveys. In response, the Town has aggressively expanded their trail network, and for over a decade, Lumos has worked with the Town to plan and design several different trails, including three phases of the Truckee River Legacy Trail and the Brockway Road Trail.
In 2011 the Town selected Lumos to perform an alignment alternatives analysis and preliminary design for two additional trail segments, totaling over three miles. The project, known as the Tahoe Donner to Downtown Recreational Trail, consists of an east-west trail connecting Northwoods Boulevard to Pioneer Trail and a north-south trail connecting Mougle Lane to Bridge Street. The scope of work includes baseline environmental and cultural studies, and Lumos included JBR Environmental and Far Western Anthropological Research Group on our team to cover these tasks.
