At the University of Nevada, Reno campus, Lincoln Hall dormitory has been housing male students since 1896. The iconic brick building is known for its aesthetic beauty and at one time was at the heart of the University of Nevada, Reno. With changing seismic regulations, Lincoln Hall was renovated into much needed office space.
Lumos & Associates' Structural Engineering Division (formerly known as Tobey-Wade Consulting) provided complete structural engineering services for the seismic retrofit and renovation project. The team also was responsible for researching the historic elements of Lincoln Hall in order to make recommendations for preservation, a concern for both the University and public. Working closely with TSK Architects as the prime consultant, the $7.4 million project was completed on time and within budget.
