Lumos provided professional services for the completion of a 20-year long-range master plan for water and sewer utilities operated by the District. This project has been ongoing with multiple phases of assessment, design, and construction projects.
Phase I – Lumos prepared comprehensive utility maps from numerous as-built record drawings. Lumos prepared an asset inventory and a depreciation schedule to determine the undepreci-ated value of the utility. Lumos also identified potential areas of growth and provided a summary of this information in the form of a technical memorandum for the district’s review and approval
Phase III — Design and Specifications for Improvements – Lumos provided design and specifications for the first of several water system improvements for the District. This phase of work involved development of construction documents for upgrades to an existing well used by the local ski area for snow making water and creating an interconnect into the District’s distribution. The design included a new well house, pumping system, pressure reducing values vault, SCADA and Telemetry upgrades, and a new fire hydrant. Lumos conducted all the inspections during construction.
Phase IV — Juniper Mountain Residential Fire Flow Feasibility Study – Lumos conducted a feasibility study for the District to bring a portion of their service area into compliance with fire flow requirements. The feasibility study involved assessing multiple alternatives by utilizing a hydraulic water model of the distribution system. Cost estimates were also provided for each of the alternatives with a final recommendations presented in a final report. The study was presented to the Board members at a District board meeting.
