Trail Opening Celebration. What A Ride!

blog3

Lumos would like to thank all who joined us at the Ash to Kings Canyon Trail Opening.

Congratulations to Carson City, Muscle Powered, the US Forest Service, and all of the volunteers who made this trail possible. What a ride!!!

Lumos provided basemapping, design, construction staking, and construction oversight for two bridges over Ash and North Kings Canyon Creeks on this 7-mile single track soft-surface trail on the west side of Carson City. This non-motorized trail is on the east slope of the Carson Range, rises to an elevation of 6,700 feet and provides outstanding views of Carson City. The sawn timber bridges are 22 feet long and span the floodplains of the creeks. Trail and bridge design was a collaborative effort between Carson City, the US Forest Service, and Muscle Powered, a local bicycle and pedestrian advocacy group.

See photos from the ride and the ribbon cutting.
